Frequently asked questions
What is NotebookLM?
NotebookLM is Google’s AI research assistant that answers questions only from the documents you add and cites the passages it used. Google renamed it Gemini Notebook in July 2026. Read the full NotebookLM guide.
Is Nano Banana Pro free?
Not in the Gemini app. Free accounts use Nano Banana 2 within limits, while Nano Banana Pro needs a paid Google AI plan. Developers pay per image through the Gemini API. See Nano Banana Pro access, limits and prices.
How many sources can you add to NotebookLM?
A tracker last verified in October 2026 lists 50 sources per notebook on the free plan, 100 on Plus and 300 on Pro. Google changes limits often, so confirm in your account. See the NotebookLM limits table.
What are the best Gemini prompts?
The best Gemini prompts name a task, add context and state the output format, following Google’s persona, task, context and format pattern. We list 50 ready-to-edit examples for work, study and writing. Copy the Gemini prompts.
How do you write a good Nano Banana prompt?
Describe the subject, action, location, composition and style in one or two natural sentences. For edits, say what to change and what to keep. Refine in the same chat. Follow the Nano Banana prompt guide.
Is Google Edits affiliated with Google?
No. Google Edits is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google LLC or any government agency. Our guides are general information, not professional advice. See the disclaimer.
How do I report a mistake?
Use the contact us page. We re-test the claim and update the guide.
Why trust our Google AI guides
Our Google AI guides are written to be checked. We name the plan and account type a result applies to, show the exact prompt or setting we used, and point to Google’s own documentation when a fact cannot be tested by hand. For official product details, see Gemini Apps Help and NotebookLM Help.
